Parents create and control the account.
Parents provide consent before any session.
Sessions have clearly defined boundaries.
Children never exchange personal contact information.
Children are never encouraged to keep conversations secret.
No inappropriate content, ever.
No romantic interactions of any kind.
No private off-platform communication.
No requests for gifts or money.
No unauthorized recording.
Group sessions are structured and moderated.

What The Smile Giver is not

The Smile Giver is not therapy, counseling, medical care, crisis intervention or emergency services. If a child indicates immediate danger or intent to harm themselves or someone else, we follow a defined escalation procedure that involves the parent or guardian and appropriate emergency and crisis resources. We never promise children absolute confidentiality.

Privacy by design

We collect the minimum information needed to host a good session. There are no public child profiles, no full child names shown publicly, and sessions are not recorded by default.
